now, this is smart

Behold, the smart car. Literally. The Smart gets 60 mpg with a 60-horse engine. This isn't the car for the Grand Prix or the inside lane on the Interstate, the Autobahn or the Autostrada, but for getting around town, this is the car I want next. Unfortunately, you can't get them in the U.S. This photo was taken in Florence, Italy, in 2002.

I've seen dozens of these cars. They always scare me to death on the motorway....because they just dont look real.

Honestly. I keep telling my youngest brother "We have a car here that would fit into the back of your pickup truck."

He doesn't believe me.

It's no wonder it gets so many miles to the gallon.

They don't look real, for sure. The car is a two-seater. Behind the seats is enough space to fit a suitcase, standing up and not lying down. But the car is made by Daimler, the Mercedes people, so you gotta believe it's worth a closer look.
